PAULANA Cattery was founded in 1996 in Latvia Europe with our foundation Persian Silver Shaded male, named and titled FIFE WCF Inter Champion Archibald.  We have since being established in Canada for over 20 years – now in Calgary AB as a boutique-style hobby family cattery.  Specializing in breeding Chinchilla and Silver Shaded Persians, over the years we’ve been registered with various associations, including the Federation Internationale Feline d’Europe (FIFE), World Cat Federation (WCF), The Canadian Cat Association (CCA – AFC), The International Cat Association (TICA), and The Traditional Cat Association, Inc. © 1987 ® TM (TCA).

While in Latvia, we actively took part in FIFE and WCF cat shows. These experiences helped us gain extensive expertise in cat genetics, breeding standards, grooming, and ensuring excellent nutrition for our cats.

Our focus is on maintaining the quality of European & American Champion lines. We’re dedicated to raising healthy and friendly kittens, a commitment driven by our many years of experience and passion for what we do. At PAULANA Cattery, excellence is not just a goal; it’s our way of life.

Presently, PAULANA Cattery is a member of The International Cat Association (TICA) Canada – USA Persian Breed division and TICA Ethics Code of Conduct Certified.

Our breeding cats undergo DNA testing for Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) at the Veterinary Genetics Laboratory at the University of California, Davis and they all are certified as PKD-DNA Negative. With this rigorous testing, we can assure with confidence that all kittens born in our cattery are also genetically PKD negative.

We prioritize both the physical characteristics and temperament in our breeding, dedicating ourselves to producing high-quality, healthy kittens. Our Persian Chinchilla kittens are perfect for families. Raised with immense love and detailed care, we ensure each kitten is well-socialized, healthy, and ready to be a beloved addition to your home.

In placing our kittens, we take great care, always seeking homes that promise a lifetime of love, appreciation, and responsible care. Unless under a Breeder Contract, we require all kittens to be spayed or neutered by the age of 10 months, ensuring their well-being and health.

We warmly welcome potential families to come and meet our cats and kittens after they reach the age of 6 weeks. Understanding that distance can be a barrier, we happily accommodate those unable to visit in person by offering interviews via FaceTime video calls.

We provide each adopter with a detailed written contract that outlines the terms of adoption. Upon their departure from our cattery, we assure the good health of each kitten. Nevertheless, we advise new owners to have their veterinarian check the kitten within a few days post-adoption to verify its health. We are committed to ensuring that all kittens are vaccinated against Panleukopenia, Feline Rhinotracheitis, and Calicivirus before their release. In addition, we offer a two-year Health Guarantee to cover any genetic health concerns that may arise in the early years of your kitten’s life.

As a companion pet, our kittens offered for adoption:

  • Well socialized people friendly and loving
  • Vet checked and vaccinated age appropriately
  • Fully litter trained on natural wood pine pellet cat litter
  • Fully weaned and established on solid food
  • Treated as a precaution for worms

  • TICA Breeder Slip with both parents names and registration, non-breedable contract, and ownership transfer

We offer personal delivery and shipping within Canada and USA. To confirm the feasibility of delivery in a cabin or shipping in a cargo compartment by air to your location, we request you provide three preferred destination major airports.
